Helping to get back to work

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Communities First programme has now come to and end and now the Communities for Work Plus
which an employment focused project is in its place.

We have  flyers on the School App and around the school with the information we have at the moment as well as putting some posters up in the school.

If you know anyone who would like to take part in any of our activities or you feel could benefit from our support, please feel free to sign post them to them.

 

As well as our community engagement activities , they also offer one to one employment mentoring for those who would like more personalised support in gaining employment/training.

 

Things that are available are;

Digital Fridays (Term Time Only)
Digital Fridays can be used for job search and for clients to access support to use their own devices and improve digital skills.

Porth Library, Porth – 10am to 12noon
Ferndale Library, Ferndale – 10am to 12noon
Capel Farm, Tonyrefail – 10am to 12noon

Upcoming Training - Steps to Excellence

 

Steps to Excellence course beginning on Wednesday 6th June from 1pm to 3pm at Porth Library. The course will take place for 6 weeks.
The course is available for clients aged over 25 and participants non-eligible for Communities for Work.

 

Clients will also have to have a good level of literacy as a work book is completed for the QCF Developing Effective Thinking Skills Level 2 qualification.

 

The course is suitable for clients who want to make changes and get the most out of life, take control of your life, build your self esteem, improve confidence and become more motivated.

 

Food Safety Course

Food Safety course for 26th June 2018 – venue Penrhys Flying Start.

Community Activities

We will be holding a ‘Pebble Art’ session at Pontygwaith Community Centre on the 19th of June. We are hoping to engage with new community members through running informal arts and craft sessions.
